The key takeaway
The vehicle supports the assignment; trained officers, meaningful checks, and documented follow-up are what make patrol useful.
Where Tesla patrol fits
Electric vehicle patrol can provide a visible security presence across HOA streets, apartment parking areas, commercial properties, and authorized perimeter routes. APS offers Tesla patrol as a separate service, with availability and coverage confirmed for each property across the Bay Area and California.
A mobile visit is not continuous on-site coverage. If your lobby, entrance, or construction gate needs someone present throughout a shift, consider security guard or concierge services alongside patrol. Choose the arrangement around your access points, incident patterns, and operating hours—not the vehicle alone.
Give every round a purpose
Define checks for gates, accessible doors, garages, common amenities, lighting, and other management-approved locations. Specify the visit frequency, patrol window, authorized walking areas, and who receives urgent notifications. Safe driving and site rules apply throughout the assignment.
Arrival times, checkpoint observations, exceptions, and actions taken should appear in the patrol record. A vehicle passing through a neighborhood is not evidence that every gate was inspected. Agree on how incomplete checks and interruptions will be documented.
Reporting, cameras, and privacy
Useful reports distinguish routine observations from incidents and identify the person responsible for follow-up. Discuss time-stamped entries, appropriate photographs, report access, and supervisor review when preparing the scope. The Security Command demonstration on this website is illustrative, not a record of completed patrols.
Do not assume that a Tesla automatically supplies continuous surveillance, retained footage, or verified GPS evidence. Confirm the equipment, recording settings, retention policy, lawful use, and any reporting-system access included in your written agreement. Protect residents’ privacy and restrict access to sensitive incident information.
Request a separate custom proposal
Provide your property type, California city, access arrangements, requested hours, visit frequency, and priority concerns. APS can discuss a Tesla patrol plan and budget separately from fixed-post security guard or concierge coverage.
The proposal should explain staffing, patrol expectations, supervision, reporting, exclusions, and final pricing. Confirm service availability before relying on a start date. For an immediate emergency, call 911; private patrol does not replace police or emergency medical services.
Your practical checklist
- List the property, city, access points, and priority concerns.
- Agree on patrol windows, frequency, and meaningful checks.
- Confirm reporting, recording, privacy, and escalation arrangements.
- Request a separate custom Tesla patrol proposal.
Does Tesla patrol replace an on-site security guard?
Not always. Patrol provides visits within the agreed schedule, while a fixed-post guard or concierge officer remains at an assigned location for scheduled hours. A property may need one or a combination; confirm the coverage in writing.
