Astro Protective Services
Unarmed Security Guards
Professional on-site officers for deterrence, observation, access control, and customer service.

Why this service matters
Most property losses start with someone testing whether anyone is watching. A licensed unarmed officer in uniform removes that opportunity: entrances are covered, visitors are logged, suspicious activity is reported while it is still small, and residents, tenants, and staff have a person to turn to. For most California apartment, HOA, office, and retail properties, unarmed guards deliver the strongest safety improvement per dollar.
What your coverage includes
What sets APS apart
Off-duty police officers available
For higher-risk posts, court-ordered coverage, executive protection, and sensitive events, APS can staff qualified off-duty and retired law enforcement officers alongside licensed guards.
Employee-owned company
APS is employee-owned. The officers standing at your property share in the company's success, which shows up as lower turnover, steadier post coverage, and officers who learn your site instead of rotating away.
Union-friendly workforce
APS works comfortably on union and prevailing-wage properties, respects collective bargaining requirements, and keeps wage, break, and overtime practices documented for your records.
Metris patrol fleet
Marked Mercedes-Benz Metris patrol vans and patrol SUVs give your property visible, clearly identifiable coverage with room for equipment, signage, and multi-post response.
APS also operates Tesla patrol units with recorded rounds, front desk logging, and daily client reports. See Tesla patrol

A clear plan from day one
Good security is a process. Not just a uniform.
Understand your property
Review entrances, incident patterns, operating hours, visitor flow, and existing locks, lights, and cameras. Start with the risks that matter at your site.
Agree on the assignment
Define guard or patrol hours, required credentials, authorized duties, and a budget. Put access rules, safe patrol boundaries, and emergency contacts in written post orders.
Confirm supervision
Agree on check-ins, after-hours contacts, missed-shift alerts, and backup staffing. Dispatch availability and field-supervisor attendance are different services; specify both.
Review and improve
Use factual reports and patrol exceptions to identify maintenance issues and coverage gaps. Tracking supports review; a GPS location alone does not prove an inspection.
How do I verify that an officer is properly registered?
Use California BSIS’s official license-verification service. Check current registration and any permits needed for the assignment, and ask how the provider tracks training and renewals. A uniform or an old card photo is not proof of current authorization.
What should I include in my security request?
Send the property type, city and ZIP code, preferred dates and hours, access concerns, recent incident patterns, and budget. Avoid uploading residents’ personal information or confidential documents unless they are needed and you are authorized to share them.
How does custom proposal pricing work?
Your service, property, schedule, and requirements shape a personalized proposal. Pricing is shared privately. Tesla patrol is quoted separately. APS is ready to discuss your budget. Final pricing and availability depend on the agreed scope, schedule, required licensing, and property needs.
Is mobile patrol the same as an on-site guard?
No. Mobile patrol provides agreed visits and checks; an on-site guard covers a defined post or shift. Specify visit expectations, covered areas, reporting, and escalation so there is no confusion about continuous presence.
